Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will have the option to run at 60fps on all next-gen consoles because of an update that Ubisoft had delivered on Thursday (26 November 2022).

With the new 1.0.4 title update, Ubisoft is adding a performance mode, which will let the game adjust goal and design settings to keep up 60fps while you’re playing, and a quality mode, which will maximize goal and illustrations settings to keep up 30fps.

Digital Foundry found that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sometimes plunges beneath 60fps on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X  and the game doesn’t run higher than 30fps on the Xbox Series S, so the update seems like it should be a welcome redesign. The new update is additionally expected to address screen tearing issues in the Xbox Series X/S variants of the game.

You can see how the game performs on all next-gen consoles in Digital Foundry’s video investigation:

The update brings various different changes too, including “improved stability and performance,” and some extra checkpoints in the boss fights. You can see the full inventory of changes on Ubisoft’s site.
