MEMORY is where data is stored permanently or temporarily. The computer device consists of different types of memory like volatile memory and non volatile memory.
Volatile memory consists of RAM, static RAM and Dynamic RAM. Non volatile memory consists of flash memory, optical discs, and ROM. Computer memory also called RAM is used to hold the information like when the computer power is on it reads all the information it needs to start operating system from hard disk drive to memory. Once the operating system is loaded the computer loads programs or files from hard drive to memory. The more memory the computer has the more files and applications it can run simultaneously and provides reliable and fast performance. CPU uses cache memory that is small in size and performs well. Auxiliary is a non volatile memory that holds data. Magnetic discs, optical discs comes under auxiliary memory. The computer MEMORY is available in different capacities
